This is an award winning entry for the installation of a new facade, cover and architectural solutions for the office block facing the House of Parliament. The existing building is located in the heart of the Hungarian capital, on a magnificent square of great national importance. The building was designed with a two-sided symmetry that existed only on the design table and in the designers mind, this version was never elaborated. The two-sided symmetry is not easy to break as the weight of the its absence becomes a reality. Rather than abolishing this "presence" we reveal it as a tangible perforated screen. The Phantom will be there encapsulating the existing structure that was never " to be " but exists and must remain. Experience, skills and cultural sensitivity was key for us to formulate an exciting response for the Kossuth project . One where conservation ,restoration and forward thinking where addressed in equal terms
