An award winning design for the International Competition to develop one of the main streets in the city of Baghdad; it was envisioned to recreate one of the oldest and busiest shopping markets originating from the grand and glorious period of the Abbasid Empire.

The complex comprises one of the largest Art Centres in the Middle East, in addition to a shopping mall and offices. The building was designed to facilitate multiple functions. It specifically allows for vertical and horizontal flexibility and carries this concept throughout the structure and services.

The architectural characteristics reflect aspects of the Sumerian Ziggurat, refined with Abbasid style and updated to accommodate modern technology.
