Al Waha

We were invited by a private client to develop the design for a mixed-use development in Basra, Iraq. The scheme features a commercial mall at the lower levels, with residential apartments situated above.

The concept revolves around the theme of an oasis—a vibrant and dynamic ecosystem designed to support and enrich the lives of its inhabitants. Deep balconies play a key role in the design, helping to mitigate solar gain while offering comfortable and private outdoor spaces for each residence, with views overlooking the lively mall below.

Dynamic, petal-like towers, each divided into three sections to enhance privacy, are positioned at the corners of the site, adding a distinctive architectural character to the development.
