The new Youth City is a unique development dedicated to providing cultural, sporting and educational amenities for current and future generations in Iraq.
The scheme will integrate the MOYS headquarters, commercial district, a five star hotel with conference centre, a new public library, spa, Natural History Museum and Arts Centre.
In addition the complex will incorporate sports facilities for squash, table tennis, bowling, rowing, white water rafting, sailing and football.
The sports, leisure and educational amenities will be linked by a distinctive landscape of lakes, canals, heritage and public routes. The masterplan integrates variable sustainable strategies including:
• passive cooling
• centralised district cooling
• combined heat and power generation
• compact urban sewage treatment
• rainwater storage
• greywater recycling
• solar & thermal hybrid panels
All of which will allow it to be an exemplar development in the region.
